Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.
I just went geocaching this morning, it was a lot of fun! I plan on doing it again for sure. I also think we should get the East Knox geocaching club started!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! One question though, who is hiding all the geocaches? That would be a fun job to have!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Zach! I think its something we should do again, wolfe run park? Im still amzed that there was 3 things THAT close to each other.
ReplyDeleteKrystine and Zach I want to go with you next time! What did you guys find? Did you leave anything? That is probably the coolest idea ever. It makes people stop being lazy and do something! I'm going to go out and get a gps now. haha
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a cool concept, but also a little fishy. Maybe I'm paranoid, or maybe it's just because I've seen Indiana Jones movies but I would be afraid of falling into a trap.
ReplyDeleteBut I would go if there was one at Wolf Run Park, since I can use my Garmin GPS. Is that what you used Zach?
This is very interesting. I never knew what geocaching was. From what I heard it was a very fun experience. I need to try it sometime.
ReplyDeleteI went geocaching with my family on Easter Sunday, and it was a lot of fun. We went to the Martinsburg cemetery and Taylor field in Bladensburg. Krystine, I say we go to Wolfe Run park sometime when it's nice out. Anyone is welcome to come!
ReplyDeleteDavid, when you say Garmin gps, do you mean our running watches, or your nuvi? Is it possible to insert coordinates on the forerunner?
ReplyDeleteI think that it would be cool to do this. I would like to travel around looking for them. I have never heard of this before, but it sounds like a lot of fun.
