Can e-waste be turned to gold?
One person's waste can be another's raw material! What are we going to do with all the junk cell phones and computers? Land fill?
I was surprised when I read this. I did not realize that people easily just throw away electronic devices. Having them in a lanfill, you would think would not cause not too much damage. I agree with some of the ideas they presented about limiting the disposal of e-waste. By being better aware we can help make businesses more go green. It can only help benefit the economy.
I wonder if they will be able to find similar solutions for other things thrown away in landfills. Imagine if they could dig up land fills and use everything!
My only concern is how much it will truly save. Take this excerpt from the article; "E-waste recycling is a rather complex process requiring a lot of capacity, technologies and knowledge." Will we end up using more resources trying to recycle e-waste?
I know there are places that will buy old electronics. Seems like a start to fixing the problem... Plus who wouldn't like to get a few bucks out of their broken cell phones?
I am 100% supportive in recycling any types of electronics. We need to find a solution. Our family already recycles daily.
i agree with the ideas of limiting the disposal of e-waste. Maybe someday all the big business's will try to go green.
