April 3rd, The day of the iPad launch, Doug Bernards installs an iPad in his car alongside an Audison Bit One processor. Planned install will include a McIntosh 6 channel amplifier MCC406M, and a special iPod dock which allows the digital signal to be pulled from the iPad and distributed to the BitOne via optical output. Toyota Tacoma.

I am still amazed that technology is changing and being updated everyday. Would have never thought about having a Ipad in my car. Well I actually never thought I would have a phone that is touch screen. It seems that after the touch screen there is nothing that could possibly be better, but I bet in another five to ten years they will have something that will take me by a huge surprise.
Pretty soon they are going to come up with cars that drive themselves. I think that our age is one where the technology is going to keep improving, and keep getting crazier.
An iPad installed in a car? Cool! Wonder how long it will be until one touch screen unit the size of the iPad does it all: music/radio, GPS, all the car controls like AC, defrost, windows, door locks, tachometer, speedometer, odometer, gas gauge, and complete engine analyzer. There are already cars that can parallel park themselves, so why not do all the driving too? Anyone remember the old TV show Knight Rider where the car, "Kit", actually carried on a conversation with his driver? Might not be so far-fetched after all.
There's an App for that! You currently can use your iphone to control everything in your home from the tv to your heat, water and security systems!
Ah, but can you do it while you're driving home so your house can be ready for you when you pull in the driveway? I was thinking of having all your car controls on the iPad screen so you can manage your whole car all from one device in the middle of your dash. And be able to adjust the temperature of my steering wheel in the winter, of course!
I agree with Jessica all the way. it is very shocking how much technology is being made everyday and is being updated into bigger and better things that could help us in the future. It would be cool to have an iPad in the car with you, so then you can look for directions and do a whole bunch of stuff at one time.
I think haven a I pad in your car will end up being a distraction to people getting on the internet. It will probably cause more crashes then a phone would. The reason i say that is because a phone you can put on your steering wheel why you drive and a i pad you can move to your steering wheel so i wouldn't put it in my car unless i used it for a job.
I think that that was a very interesting that people can do such amazing thing to something so little. This makes me wont to learn how to make something like this.
That is really cool. I want a car like that when i grow up. It is amazing how much technology there is and it is growing. In the next 10-20 years there will be anything you can think of.
It's amazing how fast we are advancing in technology these days. I never even thougth about ipads for cars.I think it will help us later on in the future. And I'm sure that we will have even bigger advances that make the ones now minor compared to it. But we have to keep inventing and experimenting in order to achieve greater things.
I think that everything people are doing these days with technology is really cool. technology is improving and advancing very fasly lately. Most of this technology is allowing us to achieve many of our goals in life.
To me this is unbelievable. I think our knowledge of technology is far advanced. This is a cool idea and could become helpful in the future. Who knows what we will come up with in a couple more years.
The idea of having a ipad in your car is sweet. Ipads are amazing in the first place, but put it in a car? That's just too much. Just thinking about it might make my head explode. Its the best idea I've heard all day.
This is a great idea as long as you aren't trying to use it driving down the road!
